SUBSTANCE: pulse current generator includes capacitor bank 1, load 3, multichannel discharger 2 incorporating two main electrodes 6, 7 provided with auxiliary electrodes 8, 9 forming parallel spark gaps. Auxiliary electrodes 9 are connected with the aid of chokes 10 with reciprocal inductive couplings to main electrode 6. Circuit composed of auxiliary controlled discharger 11 coupled to anode of multichannel discharger 2, current-limiting element, for instance in the form of supplementary choke 12, connected in series is linked in parallel to discharger.
