FIELD: agriculture, in particular, fiber flax selection and cultivation process.

SUBSTANCE: method involves growing plants on three backgrounds with different acidity levels (pHKCl) - I- 4.5 and lower (basic soil) high acidity background, II - 5.5 - low acidity background, III - 7.0 - neutral acidity background, said acidity levels being provided by applying lime immediately under flax and thorough mixing with soil to plow depth, at the rate providing predetermined value of pHKCl, using empirically produced coefficient for shifting by 0.1 pH - 0.31 t/hectare CaCO3 for slightly loamy soils and 0.40 t/hectare for average loamy soils; analyzing variations in main productivity parameters (fiber weight, fiber content, number of seeds per one plant) and ranging samples under test into groups: adapted for various acidity levels, resistant to neutral reaction of substrate, resistant to heavily acid reaction, and non-resistant to variations in acidity levels).

EFFECT: quick and effective determining of flax genotypes resistant to variations in soil solution acidity.
