FIELD: neurosurgery.

SUBSTANCE: device can be used for puncture extraction of parenchymatous tissue, in particular, of medullary substance. Device for taking biopsy of brain has hollow needle with sharpened working end. Needle is connected with cylinder made of transparent material. Cylinder has metric points at external surface, cap with opening and piston with rod and handle. Opening of cap has thread for external thread of rod. Side channel with external opening of surface is made at bottom of cylinder at side of handle. In initial position, end of piston is disposed at bottom of cylinder ad it doesn't close external opening of side channel. Longitudinal groove is made onto front surface of handle; hook is fixed onto axis of handle. Hook is provided with spring-loaded end. Other end of hook is provided with elastic-resilient member to seal external opening. Discharged air space between substance to be extracted and piston is reduced.

EFFECT: reduced damage of extracted substance.
