FIELD: quantum electronics and laser technology, possible use in nuclear physics for separating isotopes.
SUBSTANCE: method for extracting thallium isotopes includes creating a beam of thallium atoms and performing multi-stage excitation of atoms of required isotope, after that ionization of atoms of required isotope is performed and ionized atoms are extracted from the beam by means of application of electric field under conditions, ensuring extraction of required thallium isotope. Multi-step excitation of atoms of required isotope is performed over two stages, namely, by stage of excitation with laser radiation with usage of laser on self-limited transition and under conditions, resulting in extraction of required thallium isotope, performed in vacuum, characterized by level, ensuring passage of processes for extraction of thallium isotopes, in conjunction with preceding stage of excitation with gas discharge, realized during creation of thallium atoms beam by evaporation of metallic thallium in evaporation chamber and combustion of gas discharge in it, by means of which thallium atoms are excited into meta-stable state, under conditions, resulting in transition of thallium atoms into meta-stable state, after that in the vacuum, characterized by level, ensuring passage of processes for extraction of thallium isotopes, beam of thallium atoms in excited meta-stable state is generated.
