FIELD: laser engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser equipment. Method of pulses exciting of laser systems of generator-amplifier on self-limited transitions includes feeding periodic sequence of bursts of excitation pulses to generator and amplifier with possibility of time shift between them, at which radiation pulse is either quenched or amplified. As criterion for choosing optimal shift value, it is suggested to use level of superradiance of amplifier, namely, at maximum level of superradiance of amplifier, amount of shift between excitation pulses, corresponding to damping of radiation pulse, is fixed, and at minimum – maximum pulse amplification. To control superradiance level of amplifier in modes of damping and amplification of radiation pulse, difference between output power of amplifier and radiation power is measured, formed in generator, while amplifier stage can be used as amplifier.
EFFECT: technical result consists in providing possibility of objective installation of optimal radiation regimes of laser system.
