FIELD: exciting radiation pulses of generator-to-laser-amplifier-cascade system built around self-restrained junctions.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes supply of periodic train of excitation pulse bursts to power units of generator and amplifiers; introduction of control over regularity of system laser beam pulse repetition; choice of generator excitation pulse time shift relative to excitation pulse of amplifier first from generator in one of two ranges of values. Effective length of time shift is specified by regularity of radiation pulse repetition of generator-to-amplifier-cascade system. First range is within inversion existence time of operating amplifier laser level population. Second range is within maximal inverse population time of amplifier metastable level. In this way regularity of laser beam pulse repetition is controlled in generator-to-laser-amplifier-cascade system built around self-restrained junctions at equal pulse amplitudes.
EFFECT: enhanced precision and reproducibility of material treatment by laser beams.
