PROTECTION ELEMENT, PROVIDED WITH MACRO-STRUCTURE Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC B42D15/10 

FIELD: protection elements, possible use for confirming authenticity of a document and for gluing onto it.

SUBSTANCE: the element consists of multi-layer composition of layers of polymeric material, positioned in supporting plane formed by coordinate axes (x;y). Composition contains structures which cause optical effect and form a reflecting pattern. Structures on parts of pattern surface are made in layer of formed material and constitute a reflective boundary surface, positioned between transparent layer and protective layer of multi-layer composition. At least on one section of surface with size greater than 0,4 millimeters, at least in one direction as structure which causes optical effect on boundary surface, three-dimensional surface is made of at least one macro-structure. Limit values of macro-structure are at least at 0,1 mm range from each other, where height of structure is limited by height (H_ST) less than 40 micrometers. Macro-structure is made curved at least on separate sections of boundary surface and is described at least by piecewise continuous and differentiable function of coordinates (x;y) and is not a periodical triangular or rectangular function.

EFFECT: inexpensive protection element is created with new optical effect of thin multi-layer composition.
