FIELD: aviation and rocket engineering; antenna fairings for high-speed rockets of various classes.
SUBSTANCE: novelty is that shroud is made of composite material having low coefficient of thermal expansion which impedes thermal expansion of metal frame. Placing shroud in slots flush with frame surface provides for adhesive joint between ceramic enclosure and frame over mating surfaces. High shear stiffness of enclosure-to-frame joint is attained in this case provided slots reduce area of mating surfaces by not more than 1/3. In addition, filling ring or screw slots with shroud prevents reduction in metal frame stiffness under impact of bending loads.
EFFECT: extended operating temperature range of flying vehicle antenna fairing.
