FIELD: electric engineering, possible use in traction motors of railroad vehicle, in particular, locomotives.

SUBSTANCE: in frequency-controlled asynchronous electric motor static frequency transformer is provided with commutator, connected to inputs of autonomous inverters, and control block has additional reverse connection through currents of arced stator windings. In case of emergency operation mode of one of autonomous inverters commutator disables emergency mode inverter together with arced winding connected to it on signal received from control block. Regulation system generates voltages (currents) at outputs of operable autonomous inverters with shift relatively to each other for angle, which is determined by number of active arced windings, with simultaneously increased slipping of electric motor.

EFFECT: increased reliability of electric motor due to disabling of emergency autonomous inverter and alteration of operation mode of static transformer.
