APPARATUS FOR EXTRACTING OF CEDAR NUTS, CLEANING AND SORTING THE SAME Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC A23N5/00 

FIELD: forestry, in particular, equipment for shelling of cedar cones, extracting nuts from cones, cleaning and sorting of the latter.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus has casing, shelling unit mounted within casing and equipped with drive, cone feeding hopper connected to shelling unit, and receiving hopper. Shelling unit has steel rings having rubberized inner surfaces and reducing in diameter. Rings are axially aligned and spaced with respect to one another and are fixed on poles in two hemispheres. Drive for shelling unit is formed as multiturn cam mechanism comprising cylindrical cam equipped with closed slot comprising intersecting portions. Elongated runner with rounded faces is located within slot, said runner being connected through tie-rod with slide located in guide. Pusher secured to slide is positioned within guiding pipe. Conical receiving hopper has wavy walls provided with openings for discharge of fine contaminants and dust and communicated through branch pipe with sorting drum. Drum is formed as conical cylinder mounted on shaft and equipped on its inner surface with circular shoulders. Drum consists of two sections, namely, section for small-sized fraction and section for large-sized fraction, both sections being equipped over the entire surface thereof with openings for discharge of commercial and seed nut, respectively. Shelling unit has discharge aperture. Feeding hopper is rigidly connected to shelling unit. There are discharge openings in gaps between rubberized rings in hemispheres. Sorting drum has discharge opening for removal of large-sized waste resulted from cone shelling procedure.

EFFECT: improved quality of cone cleaning and sorting procedures, and avoiding of nut crushing.
