FIELD: measuring technique.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises using a system of objects made of heavy flexible link made of metallic chain of unmovable member and movable member whose specific weight is less than that of the ambient fluid (air ball). The heavy link is mounted so that to define the bend of the link. The coordinates of the top of the band, point of connection of the movable member, and length of the link between the points are measured to calculate the horizontal and vertical components of the force with which the flow acts on the movable member. The velocity and direction of the flow is determined from the calculated value of the force and preliminary calibration.
EFFECT: enhanced sensitivity and simplified method.
