FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out the bi-directional whole body scintigraphy after deactivation in the cases of patients showing residual curative iodine-131 activity to identify regional and remote metastases. Initial relative iodine-131 accumulation index value is determined in each metastasis focus from formula: IRAiodine = (D-F1)/(A-F0)*100%, where D is the number of pulses coming from pathologic focus, F1 is the number of pulses received from the body background in pathologic focus zone, A is the number of pulses received from the whole body, F0 is the number of general background pulses. Anti-thyroid diet is administered 3-4 weeks before applying the next radioiodine therapy course during recreation period and thyroid hormone treatment is stopped. When admitted for the second time, the patient receives curative iodine-131 activity and bi-directional whole body scintigraphy is carried out. IRAiodine and significance criterion K are determined in each in each metastasis focus. K value is used for correcting following treatment course.

EFFECT: increased accuracy in controlling treatment effectiveness.
