FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method for evaluating the osteoscintigraphy results in patients with metastatic lesions of the skeleton bones belongs to the field of medicine, namely to radioisotope research methods, oncology and radiation therapy. The patient is undergoing whole body bone scintigraphy after administration of 99mTc-labeled osteotropic radiopharmaceuticals before the treatment and during the treatment. On the scintigrams obtained, the total number of counts in the whole body is determined both in the anterior and posterior view, all foci of pathological accumulation of radiopharmaceuticals with activity of ±30% of the maximum value of accumulation of radiopharmaceuticals are identified and the total score in pathological foci both in the anterior and posterior view is calculated, after which the coefficient of total accumulation (CFR) of the focal lesion of the skeleton is calculated according to a given formula. If the CSN value is greater than 0, it indicates a metastatic lesion of the skeleton bones.
EFFECT: method provides increased accuracy of diagnosing a metastatic lesion of the skeletal bones by performing bone scintigraphy in dynamics and calculating the coefficient of the total accumulation of a focal lesion of the skeleton, which makes it possible to objectively assess the total volume of a tumour lesion of the bone tissue, to simultaneously diagnose an increase, decrease and redistribution of metabolic activity in the affected area and the ratio of the latter to anatomical structures of the bone and to correctly assess the nature of the changes occurring in the pathological focus.
