FIELD: fire-fighting, particularly fire barriers adapted to extinguish air-steam mixtures, for instance in exhaust plugs.
SUBSTANCE: fire barrier has body with inlet and outlet orifices and fire-shielding members spaced apart in axial direction and made as alternating corrugated and flat strips. The strips are rolled to create flame-suppression channels for gas passage. Channel dimensions, distance between fire-shielding members and thickness thereof increases in direction from inlet body orifice to outlet one. The strips are made of gas-permeable porous structure. Pore channel dimensions are less or equal to that of flame-suppression channels defined between the strips.
EFFECT: decreased gas flow resistance, reduced fire barrier size, increased service time of fire barrier exposed to flame, possibility of inner pressure reduction.
