FIELD: fire-fighting, particularly fire shielding means for extinguishing steam-and-air combustible mixes.
SUBSTANCE: fire barrier structure comprises body with inlet and outlet orifices and fire-shielding members installed in the body and spaced apart in axial body direction. The fire-shielding members have perforated support members. Annular members are installed between adjacent fire-shielding members and perforated members. Fire-shielding members are made of porous heat-resistant material, for instance of sintered ceramic metal, ceramics, fiber material. The fire-shielding members are installed in the body so that member thicknesses "a", spacing "b" between members and pore channel dimensions increate in direction from inlet orifice to outlet one. Fire-shielding members may be formed of highly-porous open-cell heat-resistant material based on open-cell foamed polyurethane structure duplication.
EFFECT: decreased gas mix flow resistance along with reduced barrier structure size and increased life of barrier structure exposed to flame.
