EVAPORATOR FOR RADIOACTIVE SOLUTIONS Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC B01D1/06 G21F9/04

Abstract RU 2317127 C1

FIELD: disposal of radioactive waste.

SUBSTANCE: evaporation apparatus comprises housing with the solution chamber and vapor chamber mounted above the solution chamber, bottom, top detachable lid, heating chamber mounted in the solution chamber with a spaced relation to its wall and secured to the lid, circulating pipe, circulation pump provided with wheel at the bottom end of the shaft and mounted on the lid of the housing, and branch pipes for supplying initial solution and discharging secondary vapor, concentrated solution, and draining. The heating chamber is mounted with a spaced relation to the bottom, is ring-shaped, and embraces the circulation pipe secured to the lid. The circulation pipe receives the working wheel of the pump. The heating chamber and circulation pipe are secured to the lid with the use of a setting pipe that has at least one opening. The solution chamber may be provided with vapor jacket with branch pipes fort supplying vapor and discharging condensate. The branch pipe for discharging the secondary vapor is set on the wall of the vapor chamber under detachable lid. The branch pipe for discharging the evaporated solution is mounted on the wall of the housing above the heating chamber. The branch pipe for draining can be set on the housing wall above the branch pipe for discharging concentrated solution. The branch pipes for supplying vapor and discharging condensate are made of bends with flanges. The bottom end of the pipe for discharging condensate from the heating chamber is beveled and set at the bottom of the heating chamber. The vapor chamber may be provided with a branch pipe for supplying compressed air or vapor. The branch pipe for supplying initial solution is preferably mounted above the branch pipe for discharging concentrated solution.

EFFECT: reduced sizes and enhanced reliability and service life.
