SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining purification of the natural waters and sewage by filtration through the granular loadings. The contact filter contains the tank, the blocks of feeding of the purified and the rinsing water and the withdrawal of the filtrate and the rinsing water, the layer of the filtering material, the drainage system and the distribution system. The filter is additionally supplied with the mixing tool - the washer mounted directly before the distribution system. The distribution system is made in the form of the number of the perforated pipe ducts which holes are directed downwards at the angle of 45° to the vertical. The distribution system is disposed at the altitude of 50-300 mm over the upper layer of the filtering material and is connected to the rinsing water feeding system by the pipe duct. On the pipe duct there is the limiting washer mounted in such a manner, that at cleansing of the filtering material by the water delivery bottom-up the part of the rinsing is fed in the distribution system. The speed of the water coming out of the holes makes 1-3 m/s of bores both at the filter operation or its cleansing. The upper layer of the filtering loading by the altitude of 50-150 mm is represented by the light-weight large-grain material. The technical result of the invention is the increased duration of the filtering cycle and the decreased content of the residual aluminum in the filtrate.
