FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of purifying natural and waste water by physical and chemical methods and can be used in power engineering, chemical, petrochemical and food industry, in particular, for cleaning industrial, domestic, atmospheric, mine, reservoir and quarry water and tailing dump water. Method of purifying natural and waste water involves mixing the purified water with a coagulant, flocculation in a pressure contact vessel, mixing the treated water with a flocculant, filtering through a floating granular charge in a pressure clarifying filter with subsequent washing and disinfecting the purified water with sodium hypochlorite. Prior to mixing with the coagulant, an oxidant is added to the purified water. Clapping is carried out from 2 to 30 minutes in a pressure reactor. Purified water with temperature higher or lower than 10 °C is directed downwardly or upflow through a flocculation reactor, respectively, or a de-emulsifier is added to the stream of purified water and fed into a middle distributor of a vertical flocculation reactor. After the flocculation reactor, a flocculant is added to the treated water and fed into a pressure filter with a floating load in an ascending flow or in two directions, from above and from below. Washing of floating loading is performed by means of partial emptying of pressure filter and supply of compressed air through lower distribution device. Pressure filter is then filled with water by ascending or descending water flow. After that, flushing water is supplied in a downward direction and flush water is discharged through the bottom distributor of the pressure filter.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to expand the field of application of a pressure filter with a floating load and a high degree of purification of both low-contaminated natural water and highly contaminated waste water.
