SUBSTANCE: in accordance to the invention, data carrier has several recording layers. Reading device emits a beam towards the carrier for data storage. Firstly, data is recorded on the recording layer which is closest to device head, after that optimal power adjustment is performed on required above-laying recording layer. Method and device allow recording of data after realization of testing to determine optimal power of recording, thus ensuring efficient quality of recording/reproduction.
