SUBSTANCE: proposed cast iron contains the following constituents, mass-%: carbon, 3.2-3.6; silicon, 3.5-4.5; manganese, 3.5-4.5; chromium, 1.5-2.5; copper, 0.5-1.0; barium, 0.003-0.008; rare-earth metals, 0.05-0.1; antimony, 0.004-0.008; niobium, 1.0-2.0; nitrogen, 0.1-0.15; nickel, 3.5-4.5; the remainder being iron.
EFFECT: enhanced hardness of cast iron.
