FIELD: heat insulating materials.
SUBSTANCE: heat insulating article comprises substrate made of organic or inorganic material coated with a solid material made of evacuated hollow particles of 0.01-1 mm in size and made of glass or ceramics. The pressure of gas inside the space of the particles is no more than 1 mmHg. The particles are submerged into the binder made of a material with low thermal conductivity. The method comprises applying the evacuated particles on the substrate made of a thermoplastic material, heating the substrate until it is softened, and impressing the particles into the substrate.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability, prolonged service life and expanded functional capabilities.
