FIELD: designs of non-melting electrodes, possibly used in metallurgy and chemical production for high-temperature treatment of materials.
SUBSTANCE: electrode includes body made of two concentrically joined cylindrical parts. Working member includes U-shaped rods of refractory metal. Each part of electrode body includes at least two pairs of longitudinal axially symmetrical slits arranged uniformly along perimeter and opened in one end of body. Slits of parts are shifted one relative to other. Rods are arranged in slits of inner part of body.
EFFECT: increased admissible welding electric current, improved gas shield protection, enhanced condition for cooling non-melting electrode, lowered labor consumption for preparing to operation and for restoring working portion after its operation.
