FIELD: transport engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed axle has housing with final drive, portal drives connected at both sides of axle housing, wheel drive end units attached to hoods of portal drives and carrying vehicle wheel rims, and wheel braking devices connected with units of wheel end drives. Output of each portal drive is connected with corresponding rim of vehicle wheel by hollow axle installed for rotation and prestressed in casing of gear train of each unit of wheel end drive on roller bearings with taper rollers.
EFFECT: improved reliability and increased service life of axle at reduction of its dimensions.
