FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to modifying agent compositions used in production of gray cast iron. Modifying agent comprises the following components, wt.-%: silicon, 10-20; calcium, 3-5; barium, 0.3-0.8; copper, 5-7; nickel, 12-18; zirconium, 2-4; rare-earth metals, 4-5; magnesium, 0.5-1; titanium, 10-20, and iron, the balance. Invention provides enhancing quality of cast iron articles based on their enhanced strength.
EFFECT: improved and valuable properties of cast iron.
