FIELD: construction, particularly road rollers used for ground and construction material compaction during road and aerodrome construction.
SUBSTANCE: method involves moving roller across surface to be compacted; creating dynamic compacting stresses in support surface of the roller; converting static roller weight action into impact action to be applied to contact surface, which is compacted with three-sectional roller; rotating central roller section with respect to outer ones about crank mechanism; installing side roller sections so that side sections are spaced from central one; compacting ground in said spaces by vertical vibration of compacting bars installed in end spaces between roller sections. Compaction device comprises tractor, roller, frame, weights, crank shaft, crank shaft drive and roller movement mechanism. Central roller section may freely rotate with crank supported by bearings, which are installed in side roller sections. Bearing supports are secured to roller frame. Compacting bars are installed in spaces between roller sections and are secured to roller frame. Crank shaft drive is made as hydraulic engine.
EFFECT: simplified compaction device structure.
