FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to construction, in particular, to road rollers for compaction of soil and materials during construction of roads and airfields. The device for compaction of soils includes a closed caterpillar belt tightened onto guide wheels, installed on a frame, stretchers of the caterpillar belt, attached to the frame and axis of one guide wheel and installed as capable of horizontal movement during tension of the belt, a roller, the length of which does not exceed the width of the caterpillar belt, installed on the frame between guide wheels and upper and lower parts of the caterpillar belt as capable of vertical displacement relative to the frame, besides, on the vertical stands of roller movement and on the frame there are load platforms, on the outer surface of rollers and guide wheels there are guide slots, section of which exceeds the dimensions of guide ledges on the inner surface of the caterpillar belt. The device for soil compaction has a trailer fixed on the frame for connection with a tractor. The device provides for increased thickness of the compacted soil layer by using a more efficient pattern of loading of the compacted surface due to increased dimensions of the contact surface under the roller. The device creates distributed load at both sides from the contact surface under the roller to the compacted surface, loading the compacted surface of soil and material, suppressing the possibility for creation of a shift wave of damage both upstream and downstream the roller.
EFFECT: increased thickness of a compacted soil, material layer, by means of using a more efficient pattern of loading a compacted surface, increased efficiency of a technological process of soil and material compaction.
