FIELD: power supply and control system networks for switching electric circuits.

SUBSTANCE: proposed contactor has main wound electromechanical relay with first and second make contacts, DC switched voltage being applied across first contact; controlled semiconductor switch whose power input is connected to first contact of main electromechanical relay; there is also auxiliary wound electromechanical relay that has first and second make contacts, current sensor, and control device; auxiliary-relay first contact is connected to power output of controlled semiconductor switch and second contact, to current output of current sensor whose current input is connected to second contact of main relay; data output of current sensor is connected to second input of control device whose first input supplied with control voltage is connected to main relay coil; first output of control device is connected to control input of semiconductor switch and second output, to auxiliary electromagnetic relay coil, load being connected to second contact of auxiliary relay.

EFFECT: enhanced operating reliability and reduced size due to dispensing with arc-control chambers.
