FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: D.C. contactor with arcless commutation is fitted with gear for arcless breaking of main contact 2 thanks to shunting of contact by key thyristor 3 unblanked at initial moment of contact breaking by means of starting network composed of capacitor 9 and diode 10. Blanking of thyristor 3 is provided with the use of unit of forced commutation that includes commutating thyristor 4 and capacitor 5. Capacitor 5 is charged with the help of charging circuit incorporating thyristor 6 and resistor 7. Thyristor 6 is controlled by network composed of resistor 17, capacitor 18 and limit switch 19 mechanically coupled to mobile part of contactor.
