FIELD: method for previewing and selecting a block for digital audio/video data, stored on recordable medium.
SUBSTANCE: recordable medium includes the audio/video packet of original movie, audio/video packet of preview movie, main record and descriptor of control record. After receipt of information from switching button pressed by a user, reproduction system of the medium reads, separates and decodes information which is related to certain audio/video packet of preview movie. The reproduction system of medium also composes and decodes video data of background page and decodes video data with different resolutions for output to display.
EFFECT: reduction of time required for previewing a disk and continuing the viewing of a disk.
