FIELD: purification of industrial and sewage water from petroleum products and other contaminants.

SUBSTANCE: method involves coagulation, sorption and flotation in activated aqueous dispersion of air, said processes being provided in single volume; using hydrophobizated vermiculite sorbent of fine fractions as dispersion stabilizer of gaseous phase in preparing of activated aqueous dispersion of air by jet aeration. Apparatus has chamber inclined toward discharging side, partition wall formed from staged plates and adapted for dividing chamber into aeration and flotation sections, gas dispersers, devices for feeding of water to be purified, discharging of contaminants, and discharging of purified water. Chamber is equipped with flexible planks fixed at ends of plates faced toward flotation section and adapted for closing gaps between plates which are formed curved to define arcuate channels therebetween. Said channels are connected to aeration section bottom and walls. Method allows utilization of surfactants in preparing of activated aqueous dispersion of air to be avoided, and construction of apparatus allows clogging of gas dispersers with flotation material to be excluded.

EFFECT: increased capacity of water purification process, high water purification quality with any contamination extent at inlet end, reduced number and volume of process reservoirs, and decreased area occupied by apparatus.
