FIELD: chemistry of polymers, organic chemistry, chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of synthesis of polyphenylethoxysiloxanes that are used broadly for modification of organic lacquers and resins, and as binding agents in production of refractory insulating materials. Invention proposes a method comprising the hydrolytic esterification reaction of phenyltrichlorosilane under atmosphere pressure with aqueous-alcoholic mixture containing 10-12 wt.-% of water, in the mole ratio of reagents phenyltrichlorosilane : water : ethyl alcohol = 1:(0.7-0.8):(2.2-2.7), respectively, at temperature 20-30°C and with simultaneous removing evolving hydrogen chloride and the following vacuum desorption of hydrogen chloride from the reaction mass up to the concentration of residual chlorine 0.04%, not above. The ready solvent-free product doesn't require additional purification and neutralization. Invention provides creature the method providing preparing stable solvent-free polyphenylethoxysiloxane.
