FIELD: method for conducting authentication of high speed packet data transmission services.
SUBSTANCE: the method includes following steps: user terminal, which has a physical connection set up to the access network by means of user information, stored in its own user identification module UIM as user identifier, and starts the authentication by means of authenticating object, based on UIM; authenticating object, in accordance with aforementioned user identifier, receives second random number of authentication of user terminal and second authenticating number, corresponding to second random number and computed in accordance to shared secret data SSD, stored at network side; aforementioned user terminal produces first authenticating number by calculations on basis of second random number and independently stored SSD; authenticating object compares first authenticating number to second authenticating number; if these are identical, then authentication of user terminal by authenticating device finishes successfully, in opposite case authentication does not occur.
EFFECT: authentication is made reliable in terms of safety while having low costs and being easy to perform.
