FIELD: medicine; illuminated toothbrushes.

SUBSTANCE: electric toothbrush with illumination has handle with internal cavity, head with bristles and narrowed part disposed between handle and head. There is at least one light-emitting diode disposed onto head, one or more movable bristle holders. There is engine in internal cavity of handle. Engine is functionally connected with bristle holders by means of driven shaft. For different versions of toothbrush, light-emitting diode is used with radiation flux higher than 30 mW/cm2 at distance of 0,68 cm from detector at square of aperture of detector of 0,46 cm2. Temperature created by radiation of diode onto surface of teeth, remote from light-emitting diode for distance of 0,68 cm, doesn't exceed 43°C after two minutes of irradiation. Density of radiation flux can be also achieved due to overload of light-emitting diode if it is made with integral semiconductor substrate or by application of pulse electric current of 100 mA and higher at pulse repletion frequency of 0,01 Hz-10 Hz. That density can be also achieved when light-emitting diode is used with full consumed power of 1 W and lower or in case when current former applies current of 35 A or higher to light-emitting diode. Electric toothbrush can be effectively used for taking care of mouth cavity or for whitening of teeth.
