FIELD: fire safety of buildings and building structure.
SUBSTANCE: method involves performing nondestructive metal beam testing to determine simple quality indexes and to estimate index values by means of statistical control. First of all metal beam dimensions, weak beam section heating pattern by fire heat and beam ends fastening conditions, as well as length of heated transversal section perimeter, working normative load value, normative stress intensity in weak beam sections and critical metal heating temperature are determined. Process of metal resistance to thermal fire action is described by function, which takes into consideration influence of normal stress intensity in transversal beam section under the action of normative load and reduced beam cross-section metal thickness. Fire-resistance rating is determined from nomogram.
EFFECT: increased reliability of quality control and nondestructive tests.
