FIELD: electrical engineering; electrical conductor entry in polluted zone such as explosion-protected chamber.
SUBSTANCE: proposed hermetically sealed and impact-resistant high-voltage steel adapter designed for operation in installations at high pressure up to P = 14.7 x 106 Pa (150 kgf/cm2) and for taking impact loads up to 500 g and test voltage of minimum 9 kV has its case provided with two caprolan insulating members, each having labyrinth surface on external ends; internal end of one of insulating members has labyrinth in the form of duct accommodating second insulating member introduced therein; insulating members are tightly mounted within case by means of sealing rings and sealed at external ends by means of hold-down nuts; electrical conductor made of silver-plated brass and sealed by means of sealing rings is passed through insulating members. High-voltage adapter case is provided with grooves to receive sealing rings and flange to attach explosion-protected chamber to wall.
EFFECT: enhanced pressure, impact load, and test voltage sustained by adapter with added advantage of its easy mounting in associated piece of equipment.
