FIELD: medium-voltage switches and circuit breakers.

SUBSTANCE: proposed operating mechanism has at least one magnetic circuit that encloses air gap, movable part disposed in air gap, at least one permanent magnet, and at least one current-carrying conductor which at least partially occurs in magnetic flux set up by one or more permanent magnets that can be easily locked in extreme positions while retaining simple control of operating motion. Movable part is rigidly fixed with at least one interlocking body made of magnetically soft material; magnetic flux set up by one or more permanent magnets penetrates into interlocking body in extreme position of movable part. Air gap is shorted out for magnetic flux by interlocking body.

EFFECT: ability of easily locking operating mechanism in extreme positions, facilitated control of operating motion.
