FIELD: process and equipment for bactericidal treatment of liquid fluids in food-processing, chemical, pharmaceutical and other branches of industry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves exposing liquid fluid to ultraviolet radiation, said liquid fluid being passed through circular gap between outer and inner cylindrical members, at least one of said members being movable; periodically altering gap width in asymmetrical manner by providing mutual displacement of cylindrical members in plane perpendicular to their longitudinal axes. Apparatus has inlet and outlet branch pipes, extended ultraviolet radiation source, outer and inner cylindrical members spaced apart from each other by annular gap for axial passage of liquid fluid therethrough. At least one of said cylindrical members is made permeable for ultraviolet radiation and connected to rotational drive. Cylindrical members are adapted for periodical altering width of annular gap by providing mutual displacement and/or oscillations and/or rotation in plane perpendicular to longitudinal axis. Drive is designed for enabling mutual displacement and/or oscillations of cylindrical members.
EFFECT: increased efficiency, reduced radiation exposure exercised by product, and cleaning of cylinders surfaces without application of cleaning devices.
