FIELD: control of thrust of flying vehicle jet engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes deflection of gas flow jets in area of nozzle throat section. To this end, zones with plasma of increased electrical conductivity are formed in area of this throat section with the aid of ionization sources (electron beams). Magnetic field is formed in these zones with the aid of super-conducting electromagnets. To increase concentration of plasma, easily ionizable agents may be added to gas flow. Interaction of conducting (plasma) zones of flow with magnetic field deflects and compresses gas flow. Control is effected by direction and degree of action on flow, thus changing distribution of plasma concentration. Recoil forces on super-conducting elements of electromagnet are measured and the results are transmitted to onboard computer of flying vehicle control system. Computer controls power of ionization sources and intensity of introducing the additives.
EFFECT: effective control of thrust vector at high rate of change of angles of deflection of gas flow jets and nozzle throat section with no loss in thrust.
