FACE EQUIPMENT ASSEMBLY Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC E21D23/00 E21C41/16

Abstract RU 2323339 C2

FIELD: mining, particularly upward underground mining of flat-lying mineral seams by longwalls with horizon-oriented deposit preparation pattern.

SUBSTANCE: face equipment assembly comprises enclosing powered support sections hydrocutting machines, the first and the second line hauling platforms and two coal-cutters. Hydrocutting machines are provided with executive tools with hydrocutting heads to cut large mineral blocks from mineral face zone by means of ultrahigh-pressure water. Hauling platforms deliver the cut mineral blocks to two excavations adjoining longface along two parallel lines including V-shaped guiding means with the use of mine hoisting winches. Mineral blocks are partly adapted to fill goaf for mounting strip creation. Coal-cutters are adapted to cut slots parallel to seam plane from longface center to edges thereof. Each coal-cutter comprises electric motor, hydraulic insert, supply part, which provides coal-cutter movement in working and idle states and brings three cutting members into operation. Operation of all cutting members is provided by means of single vertical shaft rotated by common drive. Coal-cutter has rollers for coal-cutter movement so that coal-cutter adjoins face front, namely coal-cutters moves along ground from face side and along V-shaped guiding means secured to powered support section base from opposite face side. Guiding means has horizontal working surface and vertical side flange. To provide coal-cutter stability upper coal cutter ski rests upon vertical panel as it slides along it. The vertical panel is installed on covering member cantilever and extends along the full length of longface.

EFFECT: increased output, operational and environmental safety, as well as operational efficiency.
