FIELD: measuring techniques; determination of deformation and strength characteristics of materials.
SUBSTANCE: strain, contraction, torsion and hardness tests are carried out. A deformation curve for great deformation, while taking into account non-uniformity of the deformation mode up to the brink of destruction, is drawn. The curve should be independent of the shape of the test models (type of indenter). Only the relationship between the integral parameters of the loading forces and displacements can be obtained from the experiment. Results of the experiments are identified through numerical simulation of the deformation process of the test models or structural components. The true deformation curve is determined, based on iterative correction of stress intensity on the curve, done in proportion to the ratio of the values of the loading forces in the calculation and experiment at equal displacements until they coincide with given accuracy.
EFFECT: broadening of analysis capabilities of deformation and strength characteristics; reducing loses; simplification of testing procedure.
