FIELD: measuring techniques.
SUBSTANCE: method involves heating the oil to a give temperature and observing reaction of the oil on a free flame. Four reactions of the oil on a free flame are used as informative parameters. These are: 'no reaction', 'plop', 'flash' and 'burning'. Concentration of fuel in the oil is determined depending on the reaction. When evaluating contamination of oil by fuel material, its concentration is determined either by calculation using a regression equation or through a graph, using a value of the 'reaction temperature' informative parameter.
EFFECT: shortening of duration and labour-intensiveness of determining the concentration; increased accuracy.
