FIELD: measuring.

SUBSTANCE: method for determining the ignition delay period of fuel compositions based on liquid jet fuels relates to the field of study of the physicochemical properties and combustion characteristics of fuel compositions based on liquid jet fuels. The substance of the method consists in the fact that a mixture in a predetermined stoichiometric ratio of a fuel and an oxidiser is supplied into the combustion chamber with a predetermined internal temperature, heated, with a sensor for dynamic measurement of the pressure inside the combustion chamber, a system for igniting a mixture of fuel and oxidiser in the combustion chamber, wherein the mixture of a fuel and an oxidiser is spontaneously or mechanically ignited, the combustion process is executed, resulting in an increase in the pressure in the combustion chamber, recorded by the pressure sensor in the combustion chamber. Based on the obtained data, a graph of the kinetic curve of the dependence of pressure on time is plotted, based whereon the value of the ignition delay period is determined. The correction coefficient n of graphical data is derived empirically.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy and reduction in the time for determining the ignition delay period, possibility of determining the studied parameters for fuel compositions based on liquid jet fuels with combustion promoters.
