FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: gas or isotope mixture to be enriched is brought into rotating cell. Rotating mixture is subject to irradiation with wavelength or frequency typical for atomic or molecular absorption spectrum of selected gas or isotope, such irradiation inducing temperature change of the gas or isotope. Enriched and depleted fractions are then removed from the rotating cell. Fluorescent lamp, lazer of light emitting diode is used as irradiation source. The method is implemented with the help of a hollow-bowl centrifuge comprising a cell incorporating the flowing units: gas mixture inlet device, enriched and depleted fraction outlet device, and irradiator for rotating mixture irradiation with wavelength or frequency typical for atomic or molecular absorption spectrum of selected gas or isotope, such irradiation inducing temperature change of the gas or isotope.
EFFECT: method and the device enable centrifuges efficiency improvement during continuous enrichment process.
