FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy and may be used at curvilinear- or radial-type casting machines to cast blooms. The travelling electromagnetic field inductors are arranged in the secondary cooling zone of the opposite side of a bloom. The said inductors are installed misaligned along the continuous casting machine by a value equal to two lengths of the inductor. The upper inductor electromagnetic field direction is aligned with the direction of the continuously cast bloom drawing, while the lower inductor travelling electromagnetic field direction is opposite the bloom motion direction.
EFFECT: higher quality of the bloom microstructure ensured by equalizing the crystallization rate in radial direction.
