FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming, particularly, to forming of continuously cast billets and blooms in liquid-solid state. Continuously cast billet is strained in the area of probable residual solidification in two-phase state at reduction stands located over the billet length in said zone in several steps. At first step, the billet is consecutively reduced by rolls in cycles at first stand, rolls being arranged with eccentricity. Then, initial collar is eliminated by rolls of second stand with eccentricity of opposite sign. At second step, residual cyclic beads are reduced to second and third stand rolls at strain not smaller than or equal to difference between height of billet strained at first step over ledges and recesses.
EFFECT: uniform straining, reduced axial porosity, higher quality.
