FIELD: physics, measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of instrument engineering and may be used as a material for thermomagnetic recording in instrument engineering, during the development of magnetooptical storage devices. Fe50Pd50-xPtx (where x = 3-10 atom %) alloy films are obtained, for thermomagnetic data recording. After heat treatment, the alloy has a structure ordered according to the L10 type and forms a texture with an easy magnetisation axis coinciding with the normal to the base plane, and the alloy, after magnetisation, is capable of maintaining the single-domain state without an external field. Films of the proposed alloy have increased recording density and power sensitivity as compared to similar iron- and palladium-based films.
EFFECT: obtaining material for thermomagnetic recording with increased recording density and power sensitivity.
