FIELD: physics; space.
SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to the field of test engineering and can be used for controlling loss of tightness of a tank separator, in a pressure fuelling system for an engine unit used in space. Before the pressurised mode of the fuel tank and overflowing of fuel from the tank, there is periodic control of loss of tightness of the container separator after every mechanical action on the pressurised system. Pressure drop ΔP at tank separator is measured and temperature of the fuel T in the tank is measured at the same time. The tank separator is considered tight on the validity of expression obtained after substituting the values of ΔP and T into the expression protected by the invention data. The invention can be used under conditions of considerable change in temperature of fuel in the tank and this increases reliability of controlling loss of tightness of the tank separator. The process of controlling tightness of the tank separator can be automated through a control system, using analogue information coming from the respective sensors for pressure drop and temperature. Conditions necessary for confirming loss of tightness by the tank separator can be obtained. This prevents the pressurising gas getting into the fuel before the pressurised mode of the gas section of the tank and overflow of fuel from the liquid section of the tank. The invention also allows for quick observation of any fast-emerging fault on the tank separator.
EFFECT: possibility of controlling loss of tightness of the tank separator in a pressure fuelling system for an engine unit used in space.
