FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: said utility invention relates to the production of construction materials, in particular, light granulated aggregate for concretes. The composition for obtaining light granulated aggregate includes sawdust and binder containing dispersed aluminium silicates, cement, lime, and gypsum; the mineral component portion in the total composition weight does not exceed 40%, with the following component ratio, % weight: sawdust 25-30; dispersed aluminium silicates (clay) 15-20; gypsum 5-8; cement 5-10; lime 1-2; water being the remaining. The granulated aggregate production method involves mixture preparation, granulation, and heat treatment of raw granules. The above binder mixture is prepared in advance, by mixing dry mineral components and adding water after that. Sawdust is added into the resulting mixture while continuously mixing it, the mixture is granulated, the granules are heat treated at 150-200°C during 10-15 minutes, cooled to the room temperature, and placed in a closed container, where they are maintained at the normal temperature and pressure for 3-7 days.
EFFECT: obtaining heat-insulating aggregate using sawdust, simplification of its production technology.
