EROSION PROTECTION OF SLOPES WITH WIRE MESH MATS Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC E02D17/20

Abstract RU 2327838 C1

FIELD: construction, water engineering.

SUBSTANCE: said utility invention relates to environmental protection of territories and erosion protection of slopes and other facilities. The erosion protection of slopes with wire mesh mats involves division of slope surface into plots and forming terraces. The slope is divided into plots with culverts consisting of prefabricated wire mesh mats and installed on the slope across the surface flow. In the tail bay of the culverts, cushioning pools are provided for, and the inlet area is designed as sunken. The projection lar of the length of terraces formed between the culverts is determined by the formula lar = H/(i - ides), and the quantity of terraces or quantity of culverts is equal to N = l/lar where i and ides are actual and design values of the slope gradient and the resulting terrace, respectively; H is the triangular prism height; l is the slope length projection on a horizontal plane. The prefabricated wire mesh mats are made of interconnected elliptic cylinders, which are connections of two meshes, the upper one and the lower one, with straight broaching along the perimeter and between adjacent ellipses. The prefabricated wire mesh mats are connected with one another with a twisting device, forming a single-piece carpet secured on the slope with anchors. The elliptic cylinder bases are formed by laying concrete elliptic forms into the ellipses between the meshes; the forms are described by the following equation: 4X2 /Br2 + 4Y2 /hr2,- = 1, where X, Y are the abscissa and the ordinate of the curve in the elliptic cylinder base, respectively; Br hr are the width and height of the elliptic forms, respectively, Br=(2÷3)hr, hr=0.1÷0.2m. The space between the meshes is filled with stones. The invention allows to increase capacity, efficiency and reliability of slope protection against water erosion and to increase the facility service life.

EFFECT: increased capacity, efficiency and reliability of slope protection against water erosion; increased facility service life.
