FIELD: mechanics.

SUBSTANCE: tubing is provided with threaded ends and near ends sections designed to grip pipe with pipeline tong during installation operations. Spiral strips of case-hardening are available on section surfaces. Pipe rotation mechanism is mounted onto tubing end strengthening mechanism. Rollers made of electro-conductive material and pipe cooling facilities are mounted on driving frame. Rollers are equipped with position controls, clamps and power supply units for rollers. Pipe is rotated and moving in longitudinal direction rollers process pipe surface. Points of roller contact with pipe are electrically heated in interrupted mode to quenching temperatures. After that, heated points of pipe surface are rapidly cooled.

EFFECT: improvement of tubing string reliability and reduction of string rejection due to external defects for installation and de-installation operations.
